Areas Of Work:
Profile:
Seth is currently in the second six of a 12 month pupillage, accepting instructions in criminal matters at both the Crown and Magistrates Courts.
Seth is now a level 1 CPS prosecutor.
Recent Cases
Defence
R v P [2026] (Appeal Against Conviction)
Following a successful application to exclude Bad Character evidence and robust cross-examination of the OIC on reasonable lines of inquiries not pursued, the Court found that there were too many uncertainties for the Bench to be ‘sure’ of the Defendant’s guilt. The appeal was upheld and the Defendant found Not Guilty on all three counts of breaching their restraining order.
Previous Experience
Prior to commencing pupillage at 9KBW, Seth volunteered as an Appropriate Adult - safeguarding children in custody - and, during his time at university, volunteered at Kent Law Clinic.
Since graduating, Seth has accumulated a wealth of experience working as a Paralegal in Crime at Rustem Guardian Solicitors. This gave Seth a valuable understanding of the full spectrum of criminal offences.
During his work at Rustem Guardian Solicitors, Seth drafted representations to the Crown which, in two separate cases where each defendant was charged with sexual assault, were successful in persuading the reviewing lawyer that the case against both defendants fell below the required evidential standard resulting in both prosecutions being discontinued in their entirety.
As a result of his previous work, Seth has a thorough understanding of pre-charge and pre-trial procedures, the preparation required for a successful defence case, and the importance of maintaining strong working relationships with instructing solicitors.
