Emily is in her second six of pupillage with 9KBW, conducting cases in the Crown and MagistratesCourts, and dealing with offences ranging from serous violence, drus supply and offences of dishonesty, to motoring offences and short Magistrates court matters.
Emily is a Level1 CPS prosecutor.
RECENT CASES
R v E [2026] - Wood Green Crown Court
Defended the sentence of a man who pleaded guilty to attempted GBH (s.18) and possession of a bladed article. The client chased the victim with a “kukri” knife and tried to stab him in the chest and leg repeatedly before getting a spade and attempting to hit the victim over the head with it. Secured sentence of 2 years 6 months custody.
R v J [2026] - St Albans Magistrates Court
Trial counsel for defendant charged with assault of an ex-partner at trial. On the day of trial made submissions that Crown had failed to comply with its disclosure obligations. The Crown offered no evidence against the defendant.
Emily previously worked as a Police Station Representative and Paralegal at a well-established East London solicitors' firm. There she managed a heavy caseload with a focus on violent crime and young offenders.
Whilst at TV Edwards Emily worked on a variety of cases, including a range of sexual and drug offences, murder, attempted murder, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. She represented the firm's clients in interviews under caution for a spectrum of either-way matters.
Bilingual in French and English, Emily previously worked as a translator in a migrant camp in Calais, France. She also undertook a 7-month internship at South West London Law Centre and there worked on a number of asylum claim cases, including under Article 3 and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Throughout her postgraduate studies she volunteered at TAAS as an Appropriate Adult for minors and vulnerable adults in detention.
