John Clifford secures convictions of three Defendants in a case concerning an Organised Criminal Network [‘OCN’]
John Clifford prosecuted this case, which involved a widespread conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and the seizure of two prohibited firearms, as well as 34 rounds of live ammunition, and over £5k in counterfeit cash.
The first two Defendants were convicted of possession of the firearms with intent to endanger life despite no forensic link to the firearms themselves but on the basis that the firearms were to be stored until such time as they were to be used in criminal activity.
The third Defendant was convicted on the basis of DNA evidence alone resulting from a major profile on the self-seal bag containing one of the firearms and the ammunition as well as a minor contributor to a DNA match on one of the firearms itself in circumstances where the forensic experts could not discount the possibility of secondary transfer.
