R-v- Bakht & Howard/Attorney Generals Reference No. 49/50 of 2015
John Clifford prosecuted at trial this sophisticated immigration fraud which involved fraudulent University documentation issued to students who applied for Post Study Work visas which were refused by the Home Office. The subsequent investigation uncovered a conspiracy to facilitate unlawful immigration to this country with a value in excess of £100k. Attorney General's Reference allowed and sentences of 5 years imprisonment for Bakht and 2 1/2 years imprisonment for Howard quashed and substituted with terms of 8 years and 5 years respectively
