Our resident dog expert, Samuel March, has recently joined the all pro-bono legal team for Sophie
Coulthard and Don’t Ban Me Licence Me, who are bringing Judicial Review proceedings against
DEFRA in respect of the regulations banning XL Bully Dogs.
Samuel joins as junior counsel. He is instructed by Rebecca Strong from Tuckers Solicitors, and led by
Cathryn McGahey KC at Temple Garden Chambers.
The case had been due to be heard on Wednesday 17 July 2023, however after three preliminary
arguments took up the whole first day of a 1.5 day listing, the matter had to be adjourned to a date
to be confirmed in Michaelmas term.
