In the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Sophie Quinton-Carter successfully prosecuted a nurse who slapped a vulnerable patient in retaliation for being struck herself. Despite being deemed an instinctive reaction by the panel, the nurse’s fitness to practice was found to be impaired by reason of her misconduct.
