Robyn Murdo-Smith prosecutes case where witness is given Sherriff’s Award.
In a recent sentence Robyn Murdo-Smith drew the Sentencing Judge’s attention to the brave citizenship demonstrated by a witness, a student who, fearing a possible stabbing, called police and followed the offender until police stopped him. The Judge made a £200 Sherriff’s Award to the public spirited young man.

9KBW’s Dominic Bardill makes a successful half-time submission in the Defendant’s absence, in a s.20 case at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
It was alleged that the Defendant had carved a noughts & crosses symbol onto the stomach of the Complainant. Dominic brought to the Bench’s attention, the significant inconsistencies within the Crown’s evidence. In addition, he highlighted numerous significant failings in the investigation; including that the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 Code of Practice (Para 3.5) had been seriously breached by investigators.

9KBW’s Tom Aitken successfully argues against deportation on the basis of Article 3 of the ECHR.
The successful appeal was against the decision of the SSHD who refused to revoke a deportation order made in the early 1990s. The Appellant re-entered the UK in 2006 in breach of the deportation order and remained in the UK since. The Appellant suffered with serious heart problems and despite providing detailed medical evidence the SSHD refused to revoke the deportation order
